Over the years I’ve been fortunate enough to meet some of the finest tennis players on this planet. It made me realise that they have one fundamental advantage; they were introduced to the game of tennis as toddlers – starting at the tender age of two, three or four, gaining essential co-ordination skills.

-Teddy Bednarek, founder of the Toddler Tennis Programme, Brisbane – Australia.-

Teddy devised and developed the tennis skills and coordination aspects of these unique beginner-coaching lessons for toddlers.

Teddy utilizes an interconnected methodology in his pioneering Toddler Tennis Programme. “Everything I’ve learned from tennis to kinesiology to Chinese massage to soccer to gym training provides me with a comprehensive foundation of teaching skills essential to a child’s future tennis development, intellect, physical fitness and general health”.

Teddy began the program in Perth, Western Australia where it was immensely successful, so successful in fact that he was invited to Europe to initiate his programme there.

After several years Teddy and his family decided to come back to Australia, where he now runs the Toddler Tennis Programme in Brisbane.

This unique, introductory tennis programme is adopted as the core syllabus of the Junior Tennis Association of Queensland Inc. At the same time, Teddy has been appointed the Head Coach to take over the responsibilities for and involvement in the coordination, planning, development and coaching of JTA junior members.
